Greg Medwig Jr. is an electrical engineering Ph.D. student at North Carolina State University studying radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design, with a focus in heterogeneous integration. He has acquired valuable insight & experience in numerous subfields of computer and electrical engineering, namely radio frequency, quantum computing, biosensors, optics, & more. This comes as a result of his participation in many hands-on learning experiences in the commercial, military, and research sectors at various institutions, which includes Brookhaven National Laboratory, AmpliTech, North Carolina State University, & more. He has presented his work at various conferences and symposiums across the U.S., allowing him to enhance his presentation and networking skills.
Greg earned his CE & EE Bachelors of Science with Student of Academic Excellence designation at Farmingdale State College in Spring 2023, and his EE Masters of Science at North Carolina State University in Spring 2025. Throughout his time in academia, he has consistently made efforts to apply his skillset to as many applications as possible, both inside and outside of the classroom. During his senior year of undergrad, he was the president of the Farmingdale IEEE student branch and worked as a peer tutor. Both of these positions enabled him the ability to assist his peers in developing and refining both their engineering and professional development skills. Mr. Medwig firmly believes that earning a Ph.D. will enable him to be in a position where he can lead new and innovative projects in the field of microwave engineering, as well as continue his desire to mentor the next generation of engineers.
