Upon completing his Ph.D., Greg intends on starting up an engineering firm that aims to provide rigorous, reputable, and elaborate solutions to vendors in the military and commercial markets. He is meticulously selecting his Ph.D. courses and research topics in preparation of this. As of 12/2024, he is enrolled in a full graduate course load and is working on 3 unique research projects, each sponsored by different funding agencies. This alone demonstrates his ability to manage deadlines effectively under pressure. Although his primary focus will be in microwave engineering, he is confident he can take on a wide breadth of engineering problems using his multidisciplinary engineering background.
Greg has always enjoyed collaborating with others to achieve shared goals. He led his undergraduate senior design project and ensured that effective communication was maintained to be successful. He also worked as a peer tutor at his undergraduate university, which gave him structured experience explaining and simplifying complex problems to other engineers on a subject matter. He has also given numerous presentations to undergraduate students, which consisted of giving them advice on their pursuit of an engineering degree and emphasizing the importance of collaborating & networking with their peers. In the future, Mr. Medwig hopes to recruit engineering interns to help them gain practical working experience in addition to their college education.
